Notes: The 2022 Pure Magic from Napa Valley, crafted by winemaker Jeff Ames and Tor Kenward, is a testament to the TOR house's foundation of single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons from Napa Valley's finest blocks. This wine is a result of co-fermenting Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot with Cabernet Sauvignon from a single vineyard, a decision made at harvest based on the winemaker's instinct. This gamble often results in a wine whose sum exceeds its parts, aptly named Pure Magic.
The 2022 vintage was unique, with wild temperature swings, a small crop, and narrow picking windows, making it a "winemaker's year." Those who timed their harvests perfectly produced exceptional wines. The Beckstoffer To Kalon and Beckstoffer Dr. Crane blocks, which form the core of this Pure Magic, have never looked better.
Tasting notes reveal a seamless entrance of black cherries, violets, and white pepper, with a mid-palate that offers complete sweet and round tannin saturation.
