Notes: The vineyards are located in the prestigious Napa Valley, with sites in Oakville (60%) and Oak Knoll (40%). The soils are primarily composed of decomposed rock from the eastern Vaca range and the western Mayacamas range, which have been carried downhill into the valley base. Here, they intermingle with the silt, clay, and gravel deposits of the Napa River flood plain. The growing season typically starts with a mild winter, followed by fluctuating temperatures in the spring and early summer, before settling into a moderately warm pattern.

Heat spikes in early autumn can accelerate ripening, but these are often followed by a significant cooling trend that slows the harvest and allows for extended hang time, particularly for Cabernet Sauvignon. The varietal composition is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon (88%), with a small addition of Petit Verdot (12%). The winemaking process involves native-yeast fermentation and full natural malolactic fermentations. The wine is aged on its lees for 24 months in new French oak barrels, with bi-monthly bātonnage to coat the tannins and integrate the wood smoothly. After aging, the wine is lightly fined with egg whites and bottled without filtration. This process results in a wine that beautifully expresses its Napa Valley terroir.

Aromatically the wine is has bright, ripe red fruits, dried herbs, pencil shavings and fine cocoa powder. The palate has layers of textured tannins, with notes of dried herbs and damp topsoil.
