Notes: Contrada Pianodario sits happily at 2,400 feet above sea level, between the two towns of Randazzo and Montelaguardia in Sicily, on the northern side of Mt Etna. The vineyard, planted in 2011, spans across nine acres of ancient volcanic soils, with formations dating back as far as 30,000 years. The grapes for this 100% Nerello Mascalese bottling are were harvested, pressed and then fermented with selected yeasts. The wine was then racked and underwent malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged for one year in large Slavonian oak casks, then in bottle of eight months.
