Notes: Contrada Sciaranuovo is located on the northern side of Mt. Etna, between Montelaguardia and Passopisciaro. Twelve acres of vines, which the majority were planted back in 2008, grow on volcanic soils with formations that date as far back as 40,000 years. The 100% Nerello Mascalese grapes are harvested, pressed, and fermented in stainless steel tanks with selected yeast. The wine is then racked and undergoes malolactic fermentation before being aged in oak, 70% Slavonian and 30% French for one year. The wine is then aged in bottle for eight months.
