NOTES: Domaine Leflaive's En Vigneraie is a notable parcel within the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation, located at the foothill of the Roche de Solutré. This single parcel spans 0.234 hectares (0.88 acres) and was planted in 1996 with a southern exposure, which is ideal for ripening the grapes. The vines grow on shallow calcareous clay soil, contributing to the wine's distinctive character.
The fruit from En Vigneraie is hand harvested, sorted, and pressed in Mâcon. After pressing, the wine is decanted overnight and then transported to Puligny for both fermentation and aging at Domaine Leflaive. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks using indigenous yeast, followed by 100% Malolactic fermentation. The wine then ages for 12 months in oak casks (20% new), and an additional 6 to 7 months in small stainless-steel tanks.
