Les Fortes Terres was the first 100% Meunier cuvée of the house in 2005. We had chosen this piece of terroir because every year, in blind tasting, the quality of the wines of this locality made an impression. The power and tension of this wine reflect the identity of this unique soil.
TERROIR AND SOILS:
Cuisles: 4 plots from the place called "Les Fortes Terres".
The steep slopes in the middle of the hillsides, impacted for hundreds of years by erosion, make them shallow soils. Here the green clay is a few centimetres away, the grapes are concentrated and you can feel the white fruits with a predominance of white peach.
WINEMAKING:
Harvested by hand in market gardening crates
Malolactic fermentation
Micro vinification in reduction in small stainless steel containers
Use of homemade mine sulphur: 26mg/l H2SO4
Sugar added to disgorgement: 0.5g/l
