Notes: 'Réserve des Célestins' is the most prestigious Cuvée and was first released in 1927. Mostly originating from La Crau, a vineyard known for its galet-rich soils that yield the most opulent wines of Châteauneuf, the wine is a blend of about 90% Grenache with varying percentages of Mourvèdre, Syrah, Counoise, Vaccarese. The grapes undergo whole cluster fermentation in conventional concrete vats before the wine is matured for a period of 3-5 years in aged French foudres and barrels.
This exceptional wine is only released during the finest vintages. Bonneau was known for his ability to adjust his winemaking techniques based on the characteristics of the fruit and the conditions of each vintage, resulting in a wine that is distinctly unique with each release.
