AVAILABILITY: 1+ BOTTLE IN STOCKNotes: Fruit comes from a 1 ha clos (single, enclosed vineyard plot) in Mareuil-Sur-Ay planted by Jean Roland-Billecart in 1964 as a tribute to the patron saint of Mareuil's church. Vines are farmed using biodynamic practices and thrive in chalk soils that allow the roots to grow deep through silt, clay, and limestone. Its southeast exposure provides precise maturity and complexity.
Made only from Pinot Noir vinified in casks, it develops an outstanding purity. Billecart-Salmon decided to add very little liqueur, or dosage, after disgorgement in order to let the typicality of the single grape used to make this great wine evolve. An exceptional wine with a good aging capacity of 20-50 years. Vintages released: 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009.
Limited Release: 1000-5000 bottles depending on the vintage.
