Notes: The Mancini Ranch bottling is made up of roughly 85% Zinfandel, with the remainder being 15% of mixed black varieties such as Carignan, Abouriou, Valdiguié, Alicante Bouschet, Grand Noir, and Petite Sirah. The ranch itself is a 96-year-old vineyard and lies kitty-corner from Papera Ranch at the corner of Piner and Olivet Roads with soils of Huichica Loam with a fairly significant amount of clay below the surface. The grapes are Fully destemmed and cold-soaked for five days, the must inoculated with a strain of yeast isolated from a ferment of some nearby old-vine Zin. After 19 days on the skins, the wine was pressed to all French oak, 19% new, and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
